Force yourself into the moment of joy at the time of stress!
You’re sitting on a chair with your hand on your head, down and disappointed with whatever is going on in your life, and suddenly you hear a knock at the door. It’s your cousin visiting you after a long time; you give him a fake smile, and let him in. You get into talking with him (on the topics of his choice mainly) and you forget about what you were stressed about. A new moment is created at the time of stress that becomes special and memorable. And this moment you might remember all your life.
What I am trying to say here is that as your cousin forced you into moment of joy, you can choose to do something that would force you to be happy and forget the stress. The best thing is just starting your car and go out with or without someone. I have tried this in the last few days, and it is working out pretty well. Because you’re forced to see different things and people with different expressions, you meet someone and talk of things going around in their life and tell the person you trust how stressful you are and how you’re ready to face it.
There’s always so much to do than just worry about something that you can’t do anything about and simply have to go through it. Make some calls for your career networking (useful or not it keeps you ambitious), get a hobby that you never thought you would go for, or do something that you always wanted to do as a child, or watch a movie that you didn’t feel like watching but your friend suggested. So most importantly get into some activity rather than thinking over what’s bugging you. Moments like that do come all the time, so celebrate these moments and keep working toward getting through it. Good times always come to those who have the tolerance to get through the bad times and stay positive.
