Kalki is an epic film with amazing details | Random Reviews # 008

Indian film industry always aspired to put themselves into global scale and kept improving till they started making films like Bahubali and Kalki. We have already started doing well with good enough physics in action and now we are making such intellectual films that are no less than any Hollywood movie.

New poster out! Birthday star Disha Patani brings action as 'Roxie' in the sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD - Asian Sunday & Style

This film reminds us of the next incarnation that will arrive in the next few hundred years and the name is ‘Kalki’. This film reminds us of the great battle of ‘Mahabharat’ that changed the future of mankind and after that started the ‘Kaliyug’ in which we all live today. There are mixed responses to the question when asked if the future of mankind will see only improvements in terms of technology and order or if everything will go down into dystopia like how they have showed in Kalki and many other Hollywood films and games. The time will arrive when water and air will be difficult to get in their pure form. However, there is hope that ‘Kalki’ will arrive and there is also hope that some of the heroes of Mahabharat will be here to support that arrival.

I must mention the character of ‘Ashwatthama’ played by Amitabh Bachchan. Nobody could have played it so well. And the action picturized of this character is something we have never seen in Indian cinema. This proved that we could make a superhero film and show such action that is believable.

We all know the character of Prabhas could have been better OR should have been played by someone more suitable. And we hope to see more of Roxi in the next one because she suits well in a city of dystopia where youth is trying to live their best and they represent the true lifestyle of such place and time which is interesting to see. Come to think of it, there can be a film like Cyberpunk which can be made with the most unique story in which such characters can be added to create a great film.

However, the worst part according to me was color grading. They over did it. I mean, the ‘yellowish Ness’ is required, I get it, but when it goes from yellow to a bit of orange, you’ve gone over, you broke the rule. It all just looks so unrealistic because of that. Unless you’re trying to make 300 or Sin City, experimenting color grading like this can be harmful and I personally would have wanted a bit less of that until it reaches the real look.

I hope my insight will help you decide if you want to watch this film or if you have already watched, I hope you liked my views on the same.
