RR 12 : Review of Crawl
Crawl is my type of movie. Less characters and more action. I also like it when a film shows how nature is powerful enough to beat humans any day because it is true, and we do not need dinosaurs to overpower us. The wild animals can do it, just enough damage which dinosaurs would do. There is no cure to natural calamities and humans can do so little when that happens. No technology can save them all. In fact, if nature wants, it can just sweep everyone in no time.
At that time, humans can rely on only two things, one the power of courage which God has given us and faith in God that he will do the right thing.
Crawl is all about alligators dominating anyone that comes close to them during a flood situation. The film shows how they come in the city area from the river due to flood and make humans their prey. The power of their teeth and what damage they can do if one is not careful. If you in the water and there is alligator, you have a very small chance of survival.
The fighting spirit of lead actors eventually escape but not without serious wounds and not without losing a limb.
The entire movie is full of action and thrill. Such that you don’t want to leave the film without finishing it once started. What else do you need from a film?
Kaya Scodelario has done a great job with her facial expressions that communicate real fear of the problem she was in. You do feel yourself in her situation and feel what she feels. I would also like to appreciate Paramount Pictures for considering this idea. We will always want films like these.
If you think this will be less scary than films with unrealistic but horrific monsters, then you will know you are wrong after watching this film. And no, there is no chemical experiment or trying to increase the animal’s power to make them more powerful like we see in the film ‘Rampage’. This is a wild animal with their natural abilities to create rampage. I am not saying ‘rampage’ is bad and I am not against that kind of concepts because there are many animals with power enough to wipe humans off of this world, but they stay in jungle and do not create chaos as long as they can live peacefully in the place where they can live without knowing there is such thing as humans. Anyway, let’s not change the topic.
Since I do not give starts to a film, I just say ‘watch’ or ‘do not watch’ and this film is definitely worth watching in my opinion. Watch it and let me know your thoughts as well.
