Project success announcement
We recently completed a challenging project and as per the new initiative from HR department we ring a bell and announce it on the floor to everyone. I did that recently for a project that went live. Like every other project, I took my time to get everything settled and harmonized. I did not want to give good news when there are complaints from the customer. I would resolve everything that comes under contract and make sure the users are happy before calling it a success.
I really appreciate the team who worked very hard on this. It was a migration project in Business Central, so it was more on the technical side than functional but in my opinion such projects are more challenging for the functional team who needs to test an already well-established system and ensure nothing is broken.
I also do appreciate the client who kept patience and keep trust in us. The acceptance from the client side on our suggestions made it a big win. I understand clients have requirements and they want everything from day one but the clients who trust a consultant who has done a similar project over 10 times, they should put a bit of a trust and listen to where things go wrong if they simply follow customer’s lead and say ‘yes’ to everything and I don’t mean saying ‘no’ because consultant wants to charge extra post go-live, I mean accepting that ‘no’ for overall change management and the risks.
